Reflective Essay

Football brings a lot of excitment to the game and lots of fun. Kids and adults enjoy it because they love playing football or they was brought up to play football. This sport is a contact sport where many people seem to get hurt, but still respect the game. The NFL now is full of competive teams who love to play eachother on sunday and monday nights. The game now is played a little more diffrent from back in the old days its more alive then the old days and the players now have better equitment then the old days where they had to wear leather helmets and pants. I would say the National Football League is more of a game then what it was back then because of the excitment in the players, playing the game.

Football is a common sport for many people now because of the fun you have with your team and the wins that you and your team has won, it feels great. Playing football is not always a good thing because of the injuries and concussions the players are taking its dangerous. There is new rules to the game so they can prevent that from happening. Football will always be a great sport to those out there who play. I grew up playing football for 6 years for pop warner and it never seemed to get old i love every bit of it. Football has been a sport that I will always love as a player.

  1. This was a good topic choice for you because football has been a part of your life for some time now. I am not sure that this writing was truly reflective in nature as much as it was expository (explaining the sport). Reflection means that you tell about an experience that you had in the past. Include many anecdotes (brief stories about moments that connect to your topic) and then reflect on how your attitude or outlook towards that experience/topic has changed. For example, you could've began with your first memories of football, maybe watching it on TV with a family member or marching out on the field yourself. Paint a picture of that moment and discuss your feelings and outlook on football back then. What did you think of getting hit or tackling someone? Originally, what motivated you to play? What did you like most about it? These ideas capture the way you thought about football in the past. Then your writing should move into experiences you have with football now. Of course, you will provide some examples of moments and then move in to your discussion of how your perspective on football has changed. This was a good effort, but in the future, be sure you have a clear idea of your purpose in reflection.
